The JET GH-1440-1 14" x 40" Gear Head Engine Lathe is designed to help shops do more per shift with safer operation, clean containment, and dependable turning performance.

Whether used in production machining, repair work, fabrication, or training environments, this machine balances power, capacity, and operator-focused safety.

At the heart of the GH-1440-1 is a 3 HP, 1-phase motor driving an 8-speed gear head system with spindle speeds ranging from 90–1800 RPM, delivering consistent torque for turning, facing, drilling, boring, threading, grooving, and parting operations.

The 2" spindle bore increases bar capacity, reduces secondary operations, and expands the range of workpieces your shop can handle. A D1-5 spindle nose supports secure chuck mounting and industrial rigidity.

Large 2" spindle bore and 14" swing handle bigger stock and reduce secondary operations.
Foot brake, chuck guard, lead screw cover, and JET e-chuck key holder come standard for controlled operation.
Full-length splash guard, integrated coolant system, and chip tray contain chips and coolant.
3 HP motor and geared head drive system provide consistent torque across 8 speeds (90–1800 RPM).
JET 30-Point Inspection ensures proper assembly, function testing, and safety validation.
